We recognise and support the rights of people with all abilities to equitable access to buildings, facilities, services and employment.

We comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and other relevant standards, regulations and legislation to ensure provision of access by people with disabilities to our operations, services and facilities.

We administer the Disabled Persons Parking Scheme in Wodonga and provide for disabled parking across the city. Wodonga has rolled out the RECHARGE Scheme™ with several locations available to recharge your scooter/wheelchair when you are out and about. A mobility map was specifically designed to assist people with a disability to move more freely throughout the community. It contains details of access to such facilities as car parks, bus stops, banks and public toilets in Wodonga and at the Baranduda and Birallee shopping centres. It also includes a list of emergency and essential phone numbers.

The Cube Wodonga, located at 118 Hovell St, is the only facility in Wodonga with a disabled toilet that has a hoist available if required.

Come in we're accessible

Wodonga Council is a proud supporter of Come in We’re Accessible, a Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission initiative.

The council is partnering with the National Disability Coordination Officer program to highlight the issue among Wodonga businesses. We encourage all businesses to use the self-assessment tool at Come in We’re Accessible.

This tool helps you find ways you can make your business more accessible. Download fact sheets for both business owners and service staff.

If your business would like to promote this initiative and how accessible you are, use the promotional material available from Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission or Wodonga Council.
