Wodonga Council provides and maintains parks and recreational areas for the community and visitors to our region. We want our community to have the opportunity to live active, healthy and engaged lifestyles.
As part of our community planning, we are always looking at ways to support and promote active living, healthy eating and mental wellbeing.
The "Active Living in Wodonga" Physical Activity Strategy 2021 - 2026 was endorsed at the October 18, 2021 ordinary council meeting.
The four priority areas will direct council staff in the delivery of local and regional partnerships to improve the physical health and wellbeing of Wodonga residents. Our Active Living Wodonga booklet provides an overview on the variety of physical activity assets available in Wodonga and information on how to access further information.
The council also has an adopted Sport and Recreation Plan 2014 to 2040 that enables the development of organised and non-organised sports in the city. There is a continued focus and investment in existing infrastructure that serves the current population, as well as investment in precincts, such as Baranduda Fields, to meet the increasing demand and future growth.
