Wodonga Council provides and maintains parks and recreational areas for the community and visitors to our region. We want our community to have the opportunity to live active, healthy and engaged lifestyles.
As part of our community planning, we are always looking at ways to support and promote active living, healthy eating and mental wellbeing.
In 2015, Wodonga Council adopted the Physical Activity Strategy 2015-2020 which outlines the benefits for both the individuals, and the wider community on the importance to be physically active and for the council to provide the infrastructure, services and programs to enable this to happen.
The council also has an adopted Sport and Recreation Plan 2014 to 2020 that enables the development of organised and non-organised sports in the city. There is a continued focus and investment in existing infrastructure that serves the current population, as well as investment in precincts, such as Baranduda Fields, to meet the increasing demand and future growth.
