Planning for the future

 /  Building + PlanningPlanningPlanning for the future

When planning for the future, we ensure that there are strategies, policies and frameworks to ensure that planning, investment and decision-making is relevant to the needs of the community and provides a sustainable base for future generations.

There are a variety of growth and development plans that identify the location of encumbered land, neighbourhood precincts, activity centres, social infrastructure, roads and public space. These plans aim to:

  • Guide the delivery of quality liveable urban environments;
  • Transition rural land to urban land;
  • Provides a vision of how the land should be developed and how this can be achieved;
  • Identifies locations of activitiy centres, residental areas, open space and employment precincts;
  • Acknowledges the WRENs waterways and conservation land; and,
  • Identifies the main road network and the design of local streets.

If you're interested in viewing any of our development plans, please contact us by completing the online form below.

Land Development Trends

This document contains the analysis of land supply and consumption in Wodonga. This enables the council to make appropriate zoning, infrastructure and development decisions to ensure there is a sufficient supply and choice of vacant land into the future.

The Land Development Trends will also support decision-making for both current and potential developers in the city. Having up–to-date and accurately analysed data in relation to development rates and property markets will assist in determining where and how to stage development.
