When planning for the future, we ensure that there are strategies, policies and frameworks to ensure that planning, investment and decision-making is relevant to the needs of the community and provides a sustainable base for future generations.
There are a variety of growth and development plans that identify the location of encumbered land, neighbourhood precincts, activity centres, social infrastructure, roads and public space. These plans aim to:
- Guide the delivery of quality liveable urban environments;
- Transition rural land to urban land;
- Provides a vision of how the land should be developed and how this can be achieved;
- Identifies locations of activitiy centres, residental areas, open space and employment precincts;
- Acknowledges the WRENs waterways and conservation land; and,
- Identifies the main road network and the design of local streets.
