Riding a bike to work should be easy and fun. With Ride to Work Day on Wednesday, October 21, the Bicycle Network is sharing three simple steps to get you riding.
Step 1 – Find your ride
You don’t need to have the latest and greatest bike. You will be surprised about what you can find in a family or friend’s shed or garage. If that’s not an option, you can also try a second-hand shop or chat to your local bike shop.
Step 2 – Plan your ride
If you’re riding to work for the first time, you might like to find somewhere off the road like a bike path or shared trail. You can find local bike paths and trails via https://www.wodonga.vic.gov.au/Activities-Attractions/Sports-Leisure/Walking-and-cycling-tracks. You can also check out Bicycle Network’s guide on how to plan a bike route https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/tips-resources/getting-started/how-to-plan-a-bike-route/
Step 3 – Enjoy your ride
Get pedaling and have fun. As the nice weather rolls in there is no better time to enjoy actively commuting to work. Take time to enjoy the simple moments – the wind in your hair, a clear morning and the flow of riding.
By riding your bike you can save time and money and you will be happier and healthier for it.
