Seniors Celebrations 2026 set to impress with bumper program

Wodonga’s senior community is warmly invited to take part in a vibrant and engaging program for Senior Celebrations 2026.  

With more than 70 free and low-cost events taking place across the city from Sunday, October 4 to Friday, October 16, senior residents can discover new experiences and enjoy returning program favourites designed to connect, create and celebrate.  

For more than two decades, Senior Celebrations has been a much-loved festival, offering older residents the opportunity to connect with the community while trying something new, meeting familiar and new faces and creating lasting memories.   

There are countless highlights to this year’s program, from group exercise classes and afternoon bingo to community markets and the ever-popular Age Well Expo.  

A standout event is set to be SOS: The Australian ABBA Tribute Showa free concert taking place at The Cube Wodonga on Tuesday, October 6 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.  

Bookings are essential for this spectacular journey through the timeless hits of ABBA, where audiences can relive the joy, glamour, magic and electrifying energy of one of the greatest pop groups of all time.  

Before the show, attendees are invited to join Sing Australia for a complimentary tea or coffee in The Cube Wodonga foyer from 12.30pm. 

The program also shines a spotlight on Wodonga’s rich heritage, with a fascinating range of events that will turn back time. Highlights include a Bespoke Tour and High Tea at Bonegilla Migrant Experience, family history consultations, tours of Wodonga & District Historical Society’s Hut 97 and much more.   

Wodonga’s Mayor Cr Michael Gobel said that the 13-day festival had become a valued part of Wodonga’s events calendar and remains one of the city’s most anticipated community celebrations for older residents. 

“Senior Celebrations offers us a special opportunity to come together and recognise the important role our senior community members play in strengthening Wodonga,” he said.  

“It is about more than just activities for our older residents. These events create spaces where friendships are formed, passions are rediscovered and stories are shared.” 

“There is something for everyone, whether you are looking to learn a new skill, stay active, explore local history or simply enjoy spending time with others.”
