QR code shows the way to find top nosh

Wodonga Mayor Cr Kev Poulton is encouraging the community to support local with the latest initiative funded by the grant from Victorian Government's outdoor dinning program.

The council has rolled out QR codes accompanied by a marketing campaign that takes people to a map showing nearby cafes and restaurants.

The QR codes can be found on public chairs and tables in precincts across the city.

Bright posters and bollards in these areas promote the QR code use.

Wodonga Council has undertaken several intiatives with the $500,000 provided by the Victorian Government's outdoor dining fund including:

  • Installation of two "pods" in Junction Square and Precinct One;
  • A local marketing campaign;
  • More shade umbrellas across the city;
  • Outdoor dining area at Henri's Bakery; and,
  • Amenity improvements to Southside Terrace.

The Mayor was joined by Blind Freddy's Cafe owner John Miseski whose business is one of the many that benefits from the outdoor eating areas and the QR code campaign.
