Fences down at Wodonga's Pump Track

20 Mar, 2020

The fences came down at the Birallee Park pump track today with the stage one of the new asphalt track now available for community use.

The pump track is in the south-west corner of the park. The track was included to enhance the quality of the informal recreational opportunities in the precinct and complements the nearby BMX track.

Wodonga Council committed a budget allocation in the 2019-2020 budget to complete stage one of the pump track which was completed in five weeks.

The design was based on feedback from the community, mountain bike clubs and the BMX club, with three options up for consideration.

Option one, contractor Trail Scapes’ preferred option, was selected as the track to build with its design suitable for racing with several transfer-line options.

Trail Scapes was awarded the contract to construct the pump track in the vacant land next to the BMX and hockey facilities in Silva Drive.

The design includes a second stage, a mirror of the track, which will be constructed as budget allows.

Landscaping, pathways and signage works will be completed in the coming weeks.
