Spring into these community centre programs

30 Aug, 2022

Enjoy the spring weather and free breakfast by the lake at Felltimber Community Centre or learn how to prepare for a bushfire and get creative at a new fortnightly craft session.

Baranduda and Felltimber community centres have launched their term four course guide that includes more of what residents love – free activities and more sessions involving food.

“We have a jam-packed program to finish off the year and we have activities for all ages and interests,” Community Centres co-ordinator Amanda Crisp said.

Come along to either community centre to speak with Country Fire Authority members and learn how to prepare for a bushfire.

Bushfire Planning Workshops will run from October to December, giving residents knowledge about how to best prepare their property and develop a fire safety plan.

Baranduda Community Centre will run a new program, Create and Connect, for those who want to get creative and find inspiration in a social setting where they can connect with others in the community.

Join us for Sunday Breakfasts at Felltimber Community Centre where we can spoil you with a free breakfast by the lake and activities for the kids while you soak up the beautiful surrounds.

Tai chi  has returned to the Felltimber Community Centre and is a great way to relax, recharge and rejuvenate.

Italian Cooking Masterclass is an immersive cooking experience with resident chef Leti Gavioli as she takes you on a fun and entertaining food journey to her home country of Italy.

We have two more sessions involving food – Pop-Up Italian Cafe and Back to Basics with Bob – Cooking for Blokes.

Did you know you can swap your home-grown delights, including seeds, at the Baranduda Community Centre?

Any excess produce will support the free community pantry at Felltimber Community Centre.

We are on the count down to the spring school holidays with a jam-packed program of events, including Risky Kids where kids can use parkour and gymnastics, Gardening Club with Bunnings where children can decorate a terracotta pot and fill it with a plant and we have Drama Games with Alyce Fisher for those who like acting and pretend play.

Also, keep an eye out for our Senior Celebrations events as part of the 2022 Victorian Seniors Festival.
