More shade after funding grant

2 Jan, 2020

Wodonga will have more shade sails installed in parks around the city after the council was successful in obtaining funding from the Community Shade Grants Program.

Two large shade sail structures will be installed at the new playground in Kelly park while two more shade structures will be added to the Belvoir Park and Sumsion Gardens area.

The shade sails will provide additional shade for families visiting the park and for sports team and spectators playing on the Belvoir Park Oval.

The grant will also fund much-needed replacement shade sails at Jamieson Preschool and Felltimber Children's Centre.

It is expected the new shade elements will be installed early this year.

The council will continue to apply for new shade grant funding opportunities to complement the capital works program.
