The Community Impact Grants program aims to empower community organisations and individuals to grow ideas in an innovative and creative way, as well as looking to improve the city.
Community organisations, workplaces and individuals auspiced by a community organisation can apply for grants ranging from $500 to $3000.
The grant program links to the outcomes and key priorities in the Council Plan. The program provides funding to support projects/events under the categories listed below:
- Building stronger communities;
- Environmental sustainability;
- Community events; and
- Arts and culture.
All events, activities and projects must be held in the Wodonga municipality.
The Community Impact Partnership Program provides funds for not-for-profit organisations to provide dynamic opportunities and experiences for residents and visitors.
The program is designed to support start-up initiatives, where they will become self-sustaining and on-going.
The program aims to:
- Improve environmental sustainability;
- Showcase and celebrate creative expression, development and innovation;
- Encourage community ownership and action on a community need;
- Increase employment opportunities and build economic prosperity for the benefit of the community;
- Support new and inspiring events which benefit the community and celebrate connection;
- Maximise an organisation’s potential, and build capacity to become self-sustaining;
- Strengthen the liveability for local residents; and,
- Attract visitors to the city and provide rich and meaningful experiences during their stay.
The Community Infrastructure Grant program assists community projects that provide direct benefits to residents of Wodonga.
This program has a focus on health and wellbeing, access and inclusion, community participation and environmental sustainability. This includes infrastructure that supports any recreational, sport and cultural activities, including projects that:
- Build new infrastructure in response to an identified community need.
- Upgrade or improve existing community infrastructure.
- Improve accessibility of community facilities to increase use and promote inclusion.
- Improve community health and wellbeing.
- Enhance and diversify participation in the community.
- Improve community safety and perception of community safety.
- Improve environmental sustainability or address environmental issues and concerns.
