Leanne Sjogren opened Mysa Movement in January 2023 with the aim to create a place where people could feel connected again.
“I want for people to engage and support each other in conversations, smiles and even sometimes tears, in a place that feels supportive and nurturing but also fun,” Leanne said.
With her ten years of experience as a yoga and shred fitness instructor, Leanne runs the Yoga, fitness and well-being support studio along with her team of Yoga and Pilates instructors.
Mysa Movement (pronounced: mee-sah) aims to offer a warm, supportive environment that provides a safe and nurturing place to move, breathe and grow connection to yourself.
The team offers a range of Yoga and fitness classes across a seven day timetable, giving everyone the opportunity to find time for a little self-care.
Classes include Yoga, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Sound and Shred Fitness classes along with functional movement sessions for seniors.
“I believe in the super power of combining Yoga and fitness together. They each have separate elements but there is an inner strength and balance when we allow commitment to both,” Leanne said.
Kids can also join in on the fun with Kids Yoga and Lego Therapy programs available each term for kids between the ages of seven to 12.
Leanne has plans to expand on the programs and opportunities available at the studio, including corporate wellness and team building days, local and international retreats and programs for children of all ages.
A common question Leanne is asked is “Why Mysa? What does it mean?”
Leanne says, “Mysa is a Danish and Swedish word meaning ‘cozy up’, taking time out from stress and spending time with friends and being in the moment.
“It was the perfect name for our cozy Yoga, fitness and well-being support studio.”
