Primary school students are encouraged to out and get active for Walk to School month.
This October, nine schools are taking part with students involved in different school and council events.
Walk to School month encourages students to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.
Wodonga Council promotes Walk to School as it makes active travel easy, its safe and accessible, it reduces traffic and congestion and creates positive health outcomes and connectedness.
Studies show that it takes at least 30 days to build a habit. The longer we do something healthy, the more likely that healthy habit will stick. That’s why Walk to School lasts for a month, rather than a single day.
It’s about building health habits for life.
