Guided tours of Bonegilla Migrant Experience

Guided tours of Bonegilla Migrant Experience

19

Aug

Step back in time and walk in the footsteps of a migrant as you learn about the fascinating history of Australia’s only national heritage-listed migrant camp.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, explore original camp buildings and gain a deeper understanding of daily life at the camp — bringing to life the stories, experiences and memories of its residents.

Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre was home to more than 320,000 migrants between 1947 and 1971. For many, it was a place of uncertainty — but also of hope, dreams and new beginnings.

Come on a journey through the harsh realities of post-war migration and discover what it meant to leave home and start over in an unfamiliar country.

Just 15 minutes drive from Wodonga.
