    Rent relief application

    As part of the council’s support measures for businesses affected by COVID-19, tenants and licensees of Wodonga Council properties can apply for rent relief for the months of April, May and June 2020. 

    Please use the form below to make an application for rent relief. You will need to meet the eligibility criteria below.

    Criteria for rent relief

    For a tenant or licensee’s claim for rent relief to be successful, the applicant must be a current tenant or licensee in a property owned or managed by the council and:

    • Provide retail, hospitality, tourism or arts services to the community;
    • Be small to medium business or individual / sole trader;
    • Be able to demonstrate your business has experienced financial hardship directly as a result of COVID-19; 
    • Have taken, or agree to take, reasonable steps to minimise losses, including actively pursuing additional support services and funding and any applicable State and Federal Government support; and,
    • Where possible and applicable, offer continued employment to staff during the rent relief period.

    We will exercise appropriate discretion to exempt certain requirements where it is reasonable to do so.
