Baranduda Fields community firewood project

Wodonga Council is seeking expressions of interest from eligible Wodonga not-for-profit groups in need of firewood and timber donations.

During the development of the Baranduda Fields Sporting Complex, a Eucalypt plantation was sustainably removed and the excess wood that council could not reuse is being donated to Wodonga not-for profits with the assistance of a local contractor.

For the firewood option, the wood is already split and will be loaded into your trailer or ute. Eligible projects providing community benefit can include raffling it off  or selling it in order to raise funds for your organisation. Or if your group needs small logs or firewood as part of your activities, you can stock up your supplies.

Specifications

  1. Eucalypt timber available for collection in form suitable for firewood or some timber projects
  2. The timber is available for eligible not-for profit organisations in the Wodonga municipality.
  3. Timber available for pick up at nominated location throughout the month of May on specified dates.
  4. Dependent on amount requested 15-minute timeslots will be available for allocation to collect wood in your suitable vehicle/ trailer.

Wood will be available for collection on each Saturday during May 2023 (May 6, 13, 20 and 27). You will be given a booking date and time between opening hours (7am to 1pm).

Please refer to the specific terms of conditions outlined below.
