The council is seeking the community's view, concerns and priorities regarding our mid-cycle review of the Domestic Animal Management Plan.

As part of this process, the council is seeking feedback from the community on three key topics that are raised in the plan. They are:

  • The cat curfew;
  • Dog parks; and,
  • Paws in the Park event.
  • There is a budget allocation in the 2019-2020 budget for $50,000 for a dog park.

    This consultation will also gather community input on the approach and location for a new or extended dog park.

    May 20, 2020

    At its May council meeting, the council passed a recommendation that the outcomes of the mid-cycle survey and feedback be received and noted and a further report be provided to the August 2020 council meeting on making Wodonga an on-leash only municipal area, with provision for specific, nominated public areas where off-leash activities may be permitted.

    A full review of the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2017-2021 be undertaken in 2021 and that the feedback received during the Talking Cats and Dog consultation be used to inform the development of the new Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025.

    A survey on on-leash and off-leash activities will be available in June 2020.
