Wodonga Council — Buying an existing accommodation premises

If an existing registered prescribed accommodation premise is taken over from a proprietor, a transfer of registration must occur into the proposed new proprietor's name.

Step one

Submit a formal request in writing from your solicitor to us stating that you are purchasing the accommodation premises and an inspection of the accommodation premises is required.

Following this:

Complete and return a transfer of owner's consent form to us before an inspection of the premises is completed and information about the business is released; and,
Forward an inspection report outlining the works to be completed prior to settlement to the Environmental Health team.

Submit the application for transfer form with the relevant fee prior to settlement.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the type of business and changes you may be making, you may need to contact our building and planning teams to obtain other relevant permits.
