A Development Plan outlines the potential use and development of a site. A Development Plan is a response to the requirements of the Development Plan Overlay (DPO) applied to the land by the Wodonga Planning Scheme. The purpose of the DPO is stated in Clause 43.04 of the planning scheme.
A Development plan will generally:
- Show a future subdivision pattern intended for the land;
- Assist council when it considers any planning applications for future subdivision and development on the land; and
- Guide any future development and use – however minor changes and refinements may occur.
When Council receives an application to consider and approve a Development Plan it may be made available here for public review and comment.
The consideration of a development plan by Council does not involve a formal process of public consultation. Nevertheless, Council may provide the local community with an opportunity to make a submission to enable a more informed decision to be made. Please be aware that there are no third party appeal rights (such as appealing to VCAT) for submitters in the case of Development Plans.
A hard copy of applications will also be on display at the counter of the Council offices at 104 Hovell Street Wodonga during business hours. You can comment on an application or seek further information by contacting the Strategic Planning team.

All submissions must be received by the close of business on the specified date. Clearly reference name of the application any correspondence.
