Wodonga residents are encouraged to pull some gloves on and lend a helping hand at Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday, March 6.
You could get together as a family, school group or organisation to do your part in cleaning up Wodonga and looking after the environment.
Wodonga Mayor Cr Kev Poulton is encouraging Wodonga residents to form a group, grab a bag and a pair of gloves, and help clean up our waterways, parks and reserves.
“Clean Up Australia Day is a great way that residents can contribute to our local community and environment,” he said.
“Reducing litter is everyone’s responsibility, so let’s roll up our sleeves and do our part so we can continue to ensure that Wodonga is a great place to live.
“Have a look around your local area for spots that need a little attention – bike paths, sporting grounds, creeks and parks – and register to join the event.”
Register a site on the Clean Up Australia Day website and receive a free starter kit including gloves and bags.
Additional bags and gloves can be collected in person from the council’s offices during business hours.
Wodonga Council will provide free rubbish collection from registered sites. (Rubbish must be bagged and collections can be organised between March 5 and 13).
