Are you a young person aged between 12 and 25 who would like to be involved in organising amazing events and activities for the city?
Join the FReeZA Youth Advisory Group here.
During a 12-month period, you will attend a fortnightly FReeZA meeting in Wodonga where you will get hands-on experience in a variety of tasks.
Wodonga Council youth officer Janet Banda said group members would be provided with opportunities for training and development, learn how to be part of a committee and develop team-work skills, be able to plan and run youth events and programs.
"There’s even free food at all meetings," she said.
Each year the FReeZA Youth Advisory Group, with support from Wodonga Council, will plan and deliver six fun and engaging youth-focused events, including one major event per year.
These events may include emerging artist workshops and an exhibition at Hyphen Library Gallery, a Koori sports clash, and Skate Park Series competitions.
Group members will get hands-on experience in tasks such as:
-
Marketing and promotion of events
-
Negotiating agreements with performers and other vendors
-
Securing extra sponsorship from the local community
-
Managing the production of events
-
Developing budgets for each event
Young people who live, work or study in Wodonga are eligible to join.
