A collection of up to 50 debutante and wedding dresses - some still with the price tag on - are ready for hire at no cost from the Felltimber Community Centre.
The centre's co-ordinator Amanda Crisp said the service, which as been running for about three years, has been well received.
"Girls who come and try the dresses on are always excited when they find 'the one'," she said.
"There are so many costs associated with making a debut, so this is just one way to take the pressure off parents.
"We also have a selection of wedding dresses for brides to be."
A deposit of $80 is required and refunded with the return of the dress.
