Mayfair Lane can't wait to play Cube Couch Session

28 Jan, 2021

A laid-back vibe will greet music lovers tomorrow night when Mayfair Lane grace the stage for the Cube Couch Session.

With an in-person audience allowed into the venue, Mayfair Lane will be joined on stage by Humbuckin Pickups, crowd favourite Toby Mobbs and well as MCs Josh and Mel from Atomic Radio's Mixed Lolly Bag show.

Mayfair Lane's Rhys Duursma and his wife Esther are looking forward to returning to the stage. This is their second gig in Albury-Wodonga, however, it will be their last for awhile as the couple plan to move to Batemans Bay.

"This (Albury- Wodonga) is the area where we spent a lot of time but we haven't really played here," he said.

"We are moving to Batemans Bay but we will be back."

The indie-folk duo, who met while playing music and married four years ago, spent 2019 travelling Australia, Great Britain and Wales, and the United States. Last year, the couple were a little quieter so are looking forward to making the music connection with their audiences once again.

"We miss playing," he said.

"We miss the connection. I think music has a great way of connecting an entrie group. I think people can expect some laid-back, story songs and just generally a chillled vibe."

Rhys had been the drummer and lead singer of indie-rock band Lowline while Esther formed her own singer/songwriter style when they met.

They combined their different musical backgrounds and found a new sound which has led to a growing fan base.
