Knock, knock! Who's there?

9 May, 2019

Our officers have started the annual pet registration door knock for 2019.

Wodonga Council has two Regi Check Ambassadors, Hanna Manley and Sylva Liet, who will be going from house to house for the next two weeks, checking animal registrations and details (which were due on April 10).

Every year the council conducts this door knock to check on the registration of all cats and dogs over three months old.

A child's dog or cat must be registered in the parent's or guardian's name.

Registration allows the quick and safe return of your beloved pet if they go missing or get out.

Failure to register your pet may result in a $322 fine.

All cats and dogs must be microchipped and wear a registration tag when outside of the registered premises.

Animal registration fees help the council provide animal related services including; a lost and found pet service, education and council officers.

Council officers respond to calls about wandering animals, complaints and they inspect and monitor properties where dangerous, menacing and restricted breeds are owned and businesses for compliance with minimum standards.
