Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare to benefit from Wodonga TAFE’s North East Food and Wine Festival

5 Oct, 2022

Attendees at this year’s North East Food and Wine Festival can support a worthy cause with a donation to Albury Wodonga FoodShare included in the purchase of branded souvenir festival tasting glasses.

Festival tasting glasses will be available for purchase from the Wodonga TAFE Information Booth on site on Saturday 29 October 2022 from 3pm. The $5 purchase includes the donation to Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare and a festival wristband.

Event Coordinator, Ms Lauren Heidke, said FoodShare volunteers will also be in attendance, shaking the tins in person for this very worthy cause. “We are very proud to be able to support FoodShare, who work to ensure no-one in our region goes hungry.” “It sounds too good to be true, but Festival attendees can enjoy tastings from our favourite local wine makers with proceeds from these glasses given to charity”, said Lauren.

“Who knew a glass of red could be good for your health AND your fellow humans?” Now in its 10th year, the North East Food and Wine Festival will be held in Junction Square from 3pm to 8pm, showcasing offerings of food and beverage vendors from the Border and North East Victoria.

Live music and roving performers will bring the space alive with the twilight event time making the wide-open spaces of Junction Square the perfect setting. The Festival’s Kids Zone will be sponsored by Bilson’s Soda Bar. “Festival goers will be able to taste traditional frothy ice-cream spiders and very fancy sodas!”, said Lauren. “Children can enjoy the bouncy castle, face painting, and lawn games in this dedicated space which is designed to help families relax at the event.”

Festival organisers are hopeful the timing of the Festival will encourage more visitors into the Wodonga region for a potential 4 day weekend with the Melbourne Cup public holiday just 3 days later. The Festival team thanks and acknowledges Wodonga Council as a key sponsor and supporter of this event.
