Hop into Easter with some "egg-celent" activities

7 Apr, 2022
A scribble bot workshop, string art, cooking for kids and more – there’s something for everyone these school holidays.

We have put together an "egg-cellent" array of activities to keep you and your family entertained across the Easter break.

The fun continues at Baranduda Community Centre with a String Art workshop on April 22.

Kylie from Art Starts Here will have participants constructing and weaving an amazing animal creation.

Baranduda Community Centre will let the kids get creative in the kitchen with our Kids Cooking Club program on April 20.

The session will be delivered by our facilitator, Mary, who has many years’ experience as a home economics teacher.

We have an event that’s designed for the whole family. Organise your family and come and enjoy Sunday Brunch at Felltimber Community Centre on April 24.

Meet new people, enjoy your meal, and soak up the beautiful surroundings while we provide activities to keep the kids entertained.

It’s art meets technology with the Holidays @ Hyphen - Scribble Bot Workshop on April 20.

The hands-on workshop involves building and decorating your own “scribble bot”.

Use the scribble bot to create unpredictable and unique works of art, and take part in scribble bot races.

Children will learn basic circuitry and explore different art-making tools in this interactive session.

Suitable for ages 7 to 12 years. Bookings required.

Another one for the older kids, 10 to 14 years old, involves learning about designing for 3D printers.
Holidays @ Hyphen – Create A Bag Tag on April 22 will have children exploring the possibilities in Hyphen’s Tech Studio as they create a custom bag tag.

The bag tags will be 3D-printed in the Hyphen Tech Studio and participants will be notified when they are available for collection. Bookings required.

While at Hyphen, make sure you take the time to check out The Art Factory – the latest art exhibition in the Playspace Gallery.

Ride a pedal-powered drawing machine, experiment with sound and witness the fascinating workings of a 3D printer.

The exhibition explores the process of making art with machines.

Those looking for a culturally-rich experience for their children can visit Bonegilla Migrant Experience, where the national heritage site is hosting a pop-up exhibition.

As A Child depicts a child’s view of Bonegilla - the journey to a different country, a new landscape, a new language and making a new home in Australia.

The exhibition features items that children and families brought with them for their journey to Australia including pop-out books, doll furniture and christening gowns.

Find the items behind the doors of the Discovery Cupboards and take in the displays and activities.
The site is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The exhibition is on display until April 24.
