Warm Wodonga welcome for Queen's Baton Relay

Residents of Wodonga are being urged to cheer on the Queen’s Baton Relay as it arrives in the city tomorrow.

The baton will begin its journey at Catholic College Wodonga and head along to Melrose Drive before going up Brockley St stopping at Wodonga Senior Secondary College before turning on to Beechworth Rd into High St and finishing at Junction Square for a community celebration.

Wodonga residents are encouraged to line the streets to wave the baton on as it passes by. Local schools have been busy creating artwork to bring some celebratory colour to the streets during the relay.

“This will be such an exciting day for our community as we play our part in the baton’s international journey,” Wodonga Mayor Cr Anna Speedie said.

“I encourage all our residents and businesses to get behind this historic occasion and save the date now for a morning of colour and celebration as we welcome the baton to Wodonga.”
