Superhero Storytime smashes stereotypes

Can girls be police officers? Can boys be childcare workers?

Wodonga Library, in partnership with local preschools, will host a special Superheroes Storytime to challenge gender stereotypes.

Special guest storytellers Senior Constable Raquel Vogel, from Wodonga Police, and childcare worker Ben Cookwill read books that promote gender equity.

They will also chat to the children about the possibilities of careers that challenge gender norms based on their experiences.

The Superhero Storytime will be held on Monday, December 4 at 10.15am at Wodonga Library.

The Storytime is being held as part of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence against women and girls.

The 16 days of activism runs every year from from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
