Join us at Upstream

6 Mar, 2020

Four big days of events - there's so much to see and do at the Upstream festival that kicks off this evening (March 6) with a gala opening event.

Join us on the Noreuil Park foreshore for a night filled with spectacular feats and curious wonder.

From music, to dance, acrobatic feats and gourmet feasts, there is something for everyone on the first night of the festival.

The evening gets under way from 5pm but be sure to immerse yourself in the many artistic displays you can experience in the space all weekend.

Highlights include a 15-minute laser show along the banks of the Murray River. Using 12 full-colour laser projectors linked to a musical score, this show will have you up and dancing.

There will also be a fine selection of worldly food trucks, dessert stations and cool beverages.

Check out the art and craft stations and have fun with giant lawn games.

Saturday's highlights include The Dogs Breakfast - a morning of tail-wagging fun with your furry friend celebrating all things Hairy Maclary from 8am to 11am.

This pawsitively pooch-friendly morning will feature activities, events and workshops including a book signing with Dame Lynley Dodd, renowned author and illustrator of the Hairy Maclary series.

The event will be held at Albury's QEII Square and Albury LibraryMuseum.

Over the Border, come along to our Messy Arty Party at Wodonga's Belvoir Park from 10am to 1pm.

From a colour run, waterbomb volleyball to bike art in the park, there's lots to keep young ones entertained. Be sure to dress to make a mess.

Saturday's activities continue with the Upstream Street Party from 5pm to 9pm.

Get ready to delight in international circus acts, aerial performers and roving entertainment; be amazed by a kinetic art sculpture; enjoy music, food and wine; and much, much more.

Sunday will see a return to Noreuil Park from 10am to 3pm for Sunday of Curious Things - a day of surprise, curiosity and connection with music, markets and food.

Monday will see our creative organisations from across the Border open their doors to the public. Come and see open galleries and take part in workshops and activities to complete your Upstream experience.
