Make your own Garage Sale Trail

17 Oct, 2019

Do your bit for the environment this weekend by shopping and selling secondhand in Australia’s biggest weekend of garage sales.

There is still time to register to host a garage sale as part of the Garage Sale Trail on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

The national sustainability program, which is in its ninth year, is all about reducing waste through selling and buying secondhand - it’s guilt-free retail therapy.

With more than 16,000 garage sales and more than two million items listed for sale across the country, you’re sure to find something for you in our local community.

Anyone can be a seller – whether you’re a household, school, community group or even rally your neighbours and get your whole street involved for free.

The jam-packed weekend of garage sales is a great way to declutter this spring, make some money, re-home useful items, fundraise for a cause, or just a fantastic way to meet your neighbours.

There is currently more than 40 sales registered for the weekend in Wodonga alone and 2,237 items for sale.

You can register a sale and search the sales happening on the border here and create a list of favourites to visit over the weekend.

The Garage Sale Trail have released a handy video to show you how, watch it online below.
