Wodonga's seniors are invited to kick up their heels, get active, continue their learning journey or simply enjoy great activities with old friends and new, as part of Senior Celebrations 2022.
The activities kick off on Sunday, October 2, with events as diverse as singing and dancing, croquet and bowls, or tours and treats, with the headline event, a free Fleetwood Mac tribute concert, to rock The Cube Wodonga at 10.30am on Monday October 3.
Tusk - a Storybook Tribute to Fleetwood Mac is described as a peek into what makes Fleetwood Mac one of the greatest bands of all time and is bound to get toes tapping. The show will be preceded by a morning tea. Bookings are required.
Activities continue throughout the week with a focus on fun, fitness, learning and friendships. The full program can be found below.
Wodonga Mayor Kev Poulton said the week was an opportunity for the community to honour seniors who've done so much for the modern city of Wodonga.
"Our seniors have earned the right to celebrate after decades of contributing to the social and economic fabric of our community," he said.
"Their combined wisdom, experiences and passion have shaped our city for current and future generations and it's great that we're able to play a part in supporting this fantastic program of events."
It's the second round of Senior Celebrations in 2022, after Covid-19 caused the 2021 event to be rescheduled to March this year.
"That makes it twice as good in 2022, with a new range of activities and events for this springtime celebration so I hope our seniors and their family and friends get to enjoy these activities, celebrate old friends, make new ones, and most of all, have fun," Cr Poulton said.
The celebrations will conclude on Sunday, October 9, with the final activity on the agenda being The Cocker Ronsdadt Experience at The Cube Wodonga.
