Join us for some laughs and good music

12 Apr, 2021

In a first, comedy is on the line-up for the upcoming Stream Jam - Friday Night Live event.

Border comedians Oliver Hunter, 26, (pictured above) and Brody O’Connor are on the bill for the April 23 show which will be held live at The Cube Wodonga and online.

Mr Hunter has always been a fan of comedy and in awe of others who can make people laugh at the drop of a hat.

“I’m always trying to get a laugh,” he said.

Mr Hunter can still recall his first stand-up gig like it was yesterday.

“I was 20 years old at the time and it went well considering it was the first spot for the night,” he said.

“If it didn’t go well then I don’t think I would have had the confidence to do it again.”

Mr Hunter’s act is based on long form stories and biographical jokes.

“A lot of my jokes are crafted from my life, you have to be able to laugh at yourself in this industry,” he said.

The member of the Riverina Comedy Club has regular gigs around the region and can’t wait to perform to a live crowd again after COVID shut down live performances.

Also taking to the stage will be four-piece rock band Micro Cuts and a family band of folk-making musicians, The Shadycrest Family Band.

Jasmine Scholz is a pop singer who makes music with her guitar and loop pedal and will also perform on the night alongside Tash Fenton, a pop solo performer.

The event is hosted by Wodonga Youth in partnership with Atomic.

Tickets cost $10 and include an individual food platter.
