Proposed speed limit change on Baranduda Boulevard

Do you drive along Baranduda Boulevard, Baranduda?

We’re proposing to extend the 60km/h speed limit zone another 200m in Baranduda Boulevard.

This proposal has been promoted by a petition signed by 73 residents of Westmont Village, raising concerns that many drivers are not sticking to the 60km/h speed limit. Residents also expressed concern that the drop from 100km/h to 60km/h prompts noise from heavy braking, especially air brakes.

The petition requested a new 80km/h zone be introduced starting at Middle Creek Baranduda Boulevard so motorists can gradually slow to the 60km/h limit.

Council proposes a more appropriate course of action is to extend the 60km/h speed limit zone another 200m.

Extending the 60km/h speed zone will also cover the proposed entry to the Baranduda Fields sporting precinct.

We’re keen for community members to tell us what they think about this proposed change to the speed limit.

Have your say today.

September 20, 2021

Council decided to not adopt a proposed speed limit change on Baranduda Boulevard that would have extended the 60km/h zone in Baranduda Boulevard at this time.

Council will reconsider the speed limit before Stage 1 of the Baranduda Fields development, in which it will be used by the community.
