Why volunteer?
Every year approximately 4.4 million Australians undertake voluntary work, contributing more than 700 million hours to their community. Through volunteering, you can:
- Learn new skills and gain confidence;
- Make new friends;
- Contribute to your community;
- Have fun and be part of a team; and
- Gain satisfaction in the knowledge that your volunteering really does make a difference.
Is training available?
All Wodonga Council volunteers undergo specific training for the type of volunteering they wish to participate in.
Am I insured?
All of the council's volunteers are covered by insurance while undertaking their volunteer work with council.
What can I volunteer to do?
A diverse range of opportunities exist to volunteer and assist council in delivering services to its community. The list below is a sample of the types of volunteering work available.
- Meals On Wheels
- Friendly Visiting Service
- Planned Activity Group
- Preschool and childcare
- Arts Space Wodonga
- Community arts projects
- Cultural services' events and festivals
- Felltimber and Baranduda community centres
