WODONGA'S Di Mant has been involved in the voluntary Neighbourhood House network for 25 years.
She has been a key player in the support of the Neighbourhood House network, helping many co-ordinators, students and volunteers achieve individual and collective outcomes.
Wodonga Mayor Cr Mark Byatt said Di has been a strong leader within her community area, supporting people with many needs and allowing them to grow personally.
“She has assisted many to be stronger and to support themselves, their families and the community as a whole,” he said.
Ms Mant is a past member of the Volunteer Resource Bureau, Department of Housing – Priority Housing Panel, Mobile Children's Service, Regional Neighbourhood House Network, Wodonga Hospital Belvoir Auxiliary and Save The Children Fund.
She has also been a liaison with Emmanuel Church for 16 years resulting in the multipurpose centre being built and was the first female to receive the Jim Saleeba Award, which is given for voluntary contributions made to community education.
Ms Mant was awarded the June Eagle Award at last night's council meeting.
If you know a Wodonga resident who is currently soaring high, nominate them by picking up a nomination form from council's Hovell St office, online at www.wodonga.vic.gov.au or by phoning (02) 6022 9300.
