WODONGA Council's Summer in the City concert series will kick off on Friday night, with large audiences expected to gather and enjoy the free entertainment.
The concert series started last year and attracted big crowds.
This year's series starts on Friday with The Wolfe Gang, a jazz and blues band which has stunned audiences around the Border during its previous appearances.
Mayor Cr Lisa Mahood said The Wolfe Gang would appear in Stanley St from 6pm to 9pm.
"This year we are rotating the concerts between Stanley St and Woodland Grove, two great venues which are just ideal for this type of outdoor entertainment," she said.
"Thanks to the support of WAW Credit Union, the concert series is a concept which is gaining in popularity.
"I would invite all members of the community to come down, bring their chairs and picnic blankets and enjoy a great night out."
The second concert will be held on January 19 at Woodland Grove, featuring gypsy trio Vardo, which plays Hungarian and Romanian music.
This concert will be followed by popular Border band Dadscrampy, who will also appear at Woodland Grove on February 16.
Tony Gardner's Awesome Big Band will complete the concert series on March 16.
The 19-piece big band plays some great jazz music and is sure to get the crowd enthused.
People are welcome to bring picnic hampers to each concert or food outlets will be open for trading.
