THE Felltimber Community Centre is getting behind National Asthma Week this year, which runs from September 1 to 7, 2009.
The theme is ‘Do you know what to do?' and the campaign aims to educate the community about what to do in an asthma emergency.
An ‘Ask The Experts' session will be held on Tuesday, September 1 from 6pm to 9pm at the Felltimber Community Centre.
There will be a guest speaker talking about asthma-friendly schools and their management strategies, and a pharmacist on hand to discuss medications.
The Asthma Foundation of Victoria will also have two highly regarded health professionals available to answer all asthma-related questions via an online forum.
People with asthma and their carers are most welcome to attend this free event.
Free National Asthma Week packs for health professionals, schools, people with asthma and carers are available from Wodonga Council's reception area in Hovell St, and the Felltimber and Baranduda community centres.
For more information or to register your interest for the session, please phone the Felltimber Community Centre on (02) 6043 4550.
