SNUGGLE up in the warmth of the library for Children's Book Week this week and share in the reading of award-winning Australian children's books, singing rhymes and songs, and join in with lots of fun activities.
Manager early years and recreation Debra Mudra said the Children's Book Week festival celebrates books and Australian authors and illustrators, highlighting the importance of reading.
“This year, the theme is ‘Book Safari' and Wodonga Council is excited to share in the celebrations,” she said.
Wodonga Library will be hosting free storytelling and craft activities on Thursday, August 27 from 10am to noon.
Wodonga Council will be handing out its great new bumper stickers at the event, as a part of the Story Time Anytime project.
Ms Mudra said the stickers are a visual reminder to families to read together for 10 minutes a day and to help literacy development in children aged zero to five years.
“Stickers can be collected from council, the Wodonga Library or Wodonga preschools,” she said.
