FINDINGS from the Willow Park Play and Say Day, along with information from other community consultations around the future of the park, will be shared at a community forum on Monday, September 7 at the Wodonga Civic Centre from 8.30am to noon.
More than 200 community members attended the Play and Say Day on August 22 to ‘have their say' on what they value about Willow Park and what they think it should look like into the future.
Friends of Willow Park and Wodonga Council are working together on the project, with the information to be used to develop a masterplan for the park that will set out a 25-year outline and establish priorities for the next five years.
The council's director sustainable development Johan Louw said the council received excellent feedback.
“We held four key consultation activities on the day which included a Google map of the park and people had to plot what they wanted in the park into the future,” he said.
“A further 200 written surveys were delivered to nearby residents.”
Mr Louw said some of the feedback included keeping the park a natural place with more trees and better toilet facilities.
“Most community members also love the open green spaces at the park,” he said.
All community members are most welcome to attend the forum.
The forum will be hosted by Cathy McGowan and will give the community another opportunity to be involved in local action around a shared future vision for Willow Park.
