Nominations are now open for Wodonga Council's Australia Day Awards for 2010.
Residents are being encouraged to nominate people they believe have made outstanding contributions to the Wodonga community.
The prestigious award has three categories including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Service Award.
This year's Citizen of the Year Bryan Watson said winning the accolade was an extremely rewarding experience.
Mr Watson is a willing participant in a range of community organisations including St Vincent de Paul, the Catholic Parish in Wodonga, the Rotary Club of Belvoir Wodonga, the Albury-Wodonga Woodcrafters group and a former member of the St Augustine's Primary School parents' committee.
He encouraged residents to nominate people they believed to be worthy recipients.
The nominations will be judged on the nominees achievements in the year prior to the receipt of the award as well as their past achievements and ongoing contribution to the community of Wodonga.
The Community Service Award can be presented to an individual resident or community group.
Nominations close on Friday, November 27.
The awards will be presented at the Australia Day celebrations on January 26.
