Wodonga is very well served with a wide range of educational facilities for its population and industry.
- There are 10 preschools located across the city, catering for children's early learning needs.
- There are 11 primary schools, including four denominational schools and a special development school for disabled children.
- The city also has 10 excellent secondary schools and colleges, and children can be educated through the public system or enrolled at a school devoted to Catholic, Anglican or Lutheran denominations.
- Wodonga is home to a thriving regional campus of La Trobe University, where more than 1100 students undertake under-graduate and post-graduate courses across a wide variety of disciplines including environmental management and ecology, psychological sciences, business, sport, tourism and hospitality, educational studies, social sciences, social work and social policy and nursing and midwifery.

- Wodonga Institute of TAFE provides a broad range of diploma and certificate courses in practical vocations.
- The Continuing Education Centre supports lifelong learning opportunities in areas such as access learning, general education for adults, English as a second language, later-life learning, personal support, literacy, VCE, and youth pathways.
- The Flying Fruit Fly School of acrobatics is based in the region and many former students of the school have gone on to a career in performing arts.
- The Hume Region Parent Education Service is available to all residents.
