PICTURESQUE parks and gardens are dotted throughout Wodonga.

Many pathways link with each other and also offer sporting opportunities such as soccer, a skate bowl, cricket, etc.

Below is a list of major parks with barbecue and toilet facilities in Wodonga:

  • Willow Park - parking is located off Pearce St, Wodonga in Kennedy Crt, near the barbecue and toilet facilties. This park offers a skate bowl for young children and teens. Competitive sport is regularly played here including cricket and soccer. It is the starting and finishing point for the Fed Hill Challenge, and is used for many school fun runs. House creek runs through the park. There is fitness equipment located along the path and a playground.
  • Les Stone Park - parking is located off Lawrence St, Wodonga on Parkland Drive. This park offers a barbecue and toilet facilities. It also has a playground and access to House Creek. Further up the park, there is a wetland with a jetty for fishing.
  • Belvoir Park (Sumsion Gardens) - parking is located on Huon St, Wodonga. This park is very picturesque and offers a large lake with ducks, swans and geese. The superplayground known as Belvoir Park Playground welcomes people from across the region to enjoy the great amenities on offer. The playground was funded by the Federal Government, State Government and Wodonga Council. You can also access Belvoir Park off High St (freeway end) by turning into Reuss Rd.

Other significant parks:

  • Peace Square - located in White Box Rise Estate on the crn of Kelliher Ave and Victoria Cross Parade. This park has a lovely setting and is surrounded by history and progression at the same time. Located in one of Wodonga's newest estates, the land used to be owned by the Army. The parkland is watered by the stormwater catchment at the adjacent racecourse, making the estate very sustainable. The sculputres in the park thank past soldiers for their efforts and dedication to our country.

  • Woodland Grove - located in the CBD, this park is place many locals like to eat their lunch. Located at the base of the Water Tower, there is also amazing steel sculptures that are recognisable as Woodland Grove. Their is adjacent public tolets in Hovell St and a cafe that faces the park. Many events are held here throughout the year including Todos Arte, Carnivale and Ride To Work Day.
