- The wine areas of Rutherglen, Beechworth, Milawa and King Valley to the south, and Tumbarumba to the north, make for a great wine lovers' experience.
- The historic towns of Beechworth, Yackandandah and Chiltern are close by.

Wodonga enjoys a beautiful climate – hot dry summers, mild autumns and spring, along with cool winters.

- Australia's largest regional tennis complex with 30 grass courts and 22 hard courts.
- The Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre with heated indoor pools, gymnasium, sports courts, aerobic and exercise facilities.
- High-standard hockey, cricket, football, soccer, bowls and athletics facilities or you can tee off on Wodonga's 18-hole championship golf course.
- The more adventurous are catered for with a well-used motorcycle track, go-karting and skate board facilities. Close by, Lake Hume provides the perfect venue for water skiing, sailing, fishing and camping.

Arts and cultural — a great environment
Wodonga has plenty to offer those who enjoy the arts:
- HotHouse Theatre, the city's resident professional theatre company, produces a varied annual subscription season.
- There are many community-based theatre groups and excellent performing arts facilities which mean that Wodonga's residents are treated to a range of quality productions each year.
- Community art spaces, such as the Creators' Gallery, showcase the outstanding talents of local artists who create works of fine art, sculpture, ceramics and photography.
- The Wodonga Library has recently been upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility and community area. Arts Space Wodonga offers an eclectic program of arts, cultural events including performance, exhibitions and workshops.
- The Wodonga region is also home to the world-renowned Flying Fruit Fly Circus where ordinary kids do extraordinary things.
Excellent health facilities
Wodonga has access to capital city standard health and medical facilities with a comprehensive range of services available to the community, meeting the needs of young and old alike.

The tertiary facilities at Wodonga Institute of TAFE and the Wodonga Campus of La Trobe University offer a broad range of degree, diploma and certificate courses.
