When are the rates due? |
Wodonga Council allows payment of rates either by the instalment method or a lump sum payment. Interest is charged at 12.00 per cent on all payments received after the due date of both payment options. Full paymentIf paying in full, rates can be paid free of interest up to and including the due date of February 16, 2009. InstalmentsIf paying by instalments the due dates are:
To qualify for the instalment program, the first instalment has to be paid by the due date of September 30, 2008. Click here to view our payment options.
RATE payment dates from the 2009-2010 rating year will be modified to improve flexibility in payment options. The new rate payment arrangements are as follows:
WHY IS THIS BEING DONE?Rates notices are usually issued each August. For those who chose to pay their rates in full, there was a long period between receiving the rate notice and the due date. This sometimes led to the payment being overlooked and interest being charged over several months. By receiving the notice in August and the payment being due in September, this reduces the chance of this happening. Ratepayers who miss the September 30 full payment date will automatically be converted to the instalment payment option with interest being charged until the first instalment payment is received. If you have any queries please contact our customer service team on (02) 6022 9300. |
