FEEDBACK – A PERFORMANCE OUTLET FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Feedback provides local performers with an open space to fine-tune their musical skills and display their expertise in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
What else does Feedback offer:
Feedback is:
- A chance for young performers, under 25 years, to showcase their talent and fine-tune their skills;
- A place for young performers to experience a live audience and gain confidence in their skills and receive mentoring to help them improve, also provide pathways to a career in the music industry;
- A relaxing place for young people to enjoy the talent of their peers in a supervised drug, alcohol and smoke-free environment;
- Diversity of age groups and genres; and,
- Stepping stone for young musicians to move up in the industry and are offered larger opportunities.
We are currently trying to revamp Feedback and get support from local people in the industry.
Below is a list of the support required:
- Feedback committee – provide guidance to the organising committee. You may also know a young person who would like to be on the committee. They will help organise the feedback each month and meet on a fortnightly basis;
- Sponsor one of the 10 events – provide a prize or giveaway for the young people who perform, it may be a prize a year, for example, set of guitar strings, vouchers, singing/instrument lesson;
- Mentor – be on our mentoring list. You would be required once a year to provide positive feedback to the performers. We are trying to get a database of mentors to allow limited commitment; and,
- Students/friends that would want to perform - you may have a friend or student that would be interested.
