Seniors' Week is an opportunity to celebrate the rich contributions of older people within our community.

The Over 50s Festival is held during Seniors' Week and is predominantly focused upon senior citizens, but it is also about linking all segments of the community.

The week will kick-start with a 'Celebration of Generations' on Sunday, October 5 at 10.30am where our senior citizens can enjoy a barbecue brunch with friends and family in Woodland Grove and be taken back to yesteryear with old-fashioned games such as giant chess and egg and spoon races while enjoying the musical repertoire of renowned local performer Paris.

Frankie J. Holden will entertain audiences on Monday, October 6 with a concert to be held in the Wodonga Civic Centre. Doors will open at 10am for a 10.30am start. A luncheon will then be held for attendees to be followed by an afternoon movie running from 1.30pm. Bookings required.

The civic centre will host an afternoon ball on Wednesday, October 8 with a nursery rhyme theme. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the theme by decorating their table and dressing up. Bookings required.

Mystery bus tours will once again feature in the Over 50s Festival and will be held on Tuesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 9.

In true mystery bus tour style, locations will be revealed on the day. $10 per person. Bookings required.

Alternatively one bus will go to Melbourne on Thursday, October 9 for the day. Bookings required. Cost to be confirmed closer to date.

Saturday, October 11 will feature jazz in the park, fashion parades and an activity, information and market day for people of all ages to enjoy and participate. Bookings required for fashion parade/lunch.

All bookings will be taken from Monday, August 4, 2008.
