Random Stuff holiday program - September/October

Wodonga Council's youth services' team, Arts Space Wodonga, YMCA Wodonga and the Wodonga Library will present the program, which kicks off on Thursday, September 17 to Friday, October 2 at various locations.
The activities are for children aged between five and 16-years-old.
The Random Stuff program will include sporting games with Active Edge Coaching, a ‘Creating your own universe' workshop, ‘Manga Mad' workshops, creepy creatures paper statue and sculpture workshops, netball and soccer clinics, Grimstone and gothic fairytale puppets, and Nessie the aquatic inflatable.
Due to high demands, places are limited and bookings are essential.
WEEK ONE
Manga Mad - Meeting of like-minded Manga Maniacs at Wodonga Library. Bring along your sketch book and share ideas, and drawing methods with other enthusiasts.

Active Edge Coaching – GAMES, GAMES AND LOTS OF FUN - Keep active and improve your sporting skills. This is your chance to learn a new sport in a fun and safe environment.

- Age: Six to 16 years

Create your own Universe - Celebrate the year of astronomy. Join us as we explore the solar system and indulge your imagination creating your very own universe and other space crafts.
- When: Wednesday, September 23. Repeated Friday, October 2
- Time: 2pm to 3.30pm
- Where: Wodonga Library, Hovell St, Wodonga
- Cost: $2.20
- Age: Grades one to six

Creepy Creatures paper statue and sculpture workshop - Create your own funny, freaky, silly or gruesome gargoyle, gremlin, monster, baby dinosaur or creepy crawly hand.

- Where: Felltimber Community Centre, corner Felltimber and Melrose Drive, Wodonga
- Cost: $8

NESSIE – AQUATIC INFLATABLE - Can you make it all the way to the end of Nessie, the aquatic inflatable? Enjoy all the fun and excitement of Nessie with friends and family.

- Time: Noon to 2pm
- Where: YMCA Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre, Hedgerow Crt, Wodonga

- Age: All ages
NETBALL CLINIC - The netball clinic includes fun activities aimed at developing the fundamental skills required in netball with a philosophy-based on a positive introduction to the sport. The clinic encourages children to play in a cooperative way, to learn ball and movement skills without the pressures of competitively organised sport.

INDOOR SOCCER CLINIC - The program aims to develop the fundamental skills of soccer while introducing general soccer knowledge and rules in the form of minor games. The clinic will revolve around teamwork, preparing the participant for competition and fun.

GRIMSTONE AND GOTHIC FAIRYTALE PUPPETS - Explore the world of puppets through the eyes of The Grimstones, a gothic fairytale. Construct a puppet of your own using various materials and a range of methods.
- When: Wednesday, September 30
- Time: Noon to 2pm
- Where: Arts Space Wodonga, Lawrence St, Wodonga
- Cost: $10
- Age: Eight to 14 years

Please note: If an activity does not specify that lunch is available, please bring your own. Payment is required to secure your booking and can be made at the council's customer service desk in Hovell St or check at the bottom of each event to see where you have to book. The Wodonga Library and YMCA Sports and Leisure Centre events must be booked with them.
