AS part of Carnivale Wodonga HARMONY, Wodonga Council in partnership with the Volunteer Resource Bureau will be presenting the 'Cultural Flash' dance project.

'Cultural Flash' is a dance project that has engaged the local Bhutanese and African communities in working with a professional dance artists to create a unique choreographed piece of work that honours' traditional and contemporary dance and explores cultural concepts through movement.

The choreography will then be taught in workshops at secondary schools, neighborhood houses and community facilities.

The dance piece will then be performed by the participants at Carnivale Wodonga HARMONY on Saturday, March 10, 2011, in the form of three flash mobs (a sudden assemblage of people in the crowd that start to perform) throughout the festival.

This project is a great opportunity for the community to get involved in dance and be part of a big community celebration.

Everyone is invited to attend the workshops. No experience is required.

Workshops to learn the choreography are being held at community centres:

  • Baranduda Community Centre - Mondays, February 6 to February 27, 2012 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm
  • Felltimber Community Centre - Wednesdays, February 8 to February 29, 2012 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm
