The Prize
Combining black-and-white film with live music from the George Dreyfus Film Orchestra, THE PRIZE introduces children to the wonders of classical music and is charming, nostalgic fun for adults.
Music by George Dreyfus and his son Jonathan is played live to Tim Burstall's children's classic from 1959, which tells the story of Sonny, a lucky boy who wins a goat at the fair but has to rescue it from two mischievous bullies in a perilous chase.
With every instrument playing a different character's theme, THE PRIZE is a 'Peter and the Wolf' for the 21st Century, as all ages delight in Dreyfus' sprightly melodies and Burstall's witty storytelling.
