NGURRA (Together) STUDENT EXHIBTION, 2009
Wodonga Institute of TAFE, with the support of Wodonga Council and Arts Space Wodonga, proudly present the 2009 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Student Exhibition ‘Ngurra (together)'
‘Ngurra ‘ meaning ‘together' was the name chose by the students to reflects the diversity of ages, backgrounds and art practice represented in this Exhibition.
The Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Course has embraced lifelong learning with Students ages range from 17 to 70. This has provided a unique and nurturing environment for many of the student to gain experience and knowledge of cultural arts from older respected members within the community.
The art work on show represents work from Certificate I to IV in ATSI Cultural Arts, for some of the students this is their first experience of a professional exhibition while for others in their fourth year of art practice are looking forward of embarking on their chosen careers as professional Artists.
This exciting and vibrant exhibition consisting of painting, sculpture and prints and opens on Friday, October 23 at 5.30pm and will run until Saturday, November 14 at Arts Space Wodonga, corner of Lawrence and Hovell streets, Wodonga.
All at works are for sale and this is a great opportunity to view and purchase some of our unique local Aboriginal Art.
Artist's talk: Saturday, October 24 at 11am
Come and learn about local indigenous culture and the stories behind these stunning artworks. Includes a free morning tea and tea and coffee.

Come along to Arts Space Wodonga and celebrate Public Galleries of Victoria Open Day and Get Into Art! Join local indigenous artists and be inspired to learn some new skills with our Story telling and stone painting workshop on Sunday from 11am to 2pm. Open to all ages so bring the family!.
