RED Carpet Youth Awards

RED Carpet Youth Awards

The RED Carpet Youth Awards were held in 2009 as an exciting new initiative for Wodonga Council.

The awards seek to strengthen Wodonga's support of young people, through the community recognising, celebrating and promoting young people's achievements.

The awards are for young people ages 16 - 24 who live, work, study or play in Wodonga.

The aims of the awards are:

  • To increase the positive perceptions of young people in the community;
  • Encourage and motivate young people at all levels in their chosen field, and;
  • Provide other young people with positive role models (by highlighting their achievements).

A great night recognising the achievements of local youth in a variety of areas. The night was well organised and ran smoothly – congratulations to the committee and Wodonga Council. Let's see more innovative programs for young people to help them achieve their potential.

What a wonderful initiative. Congrats to Wodonga Council but more importantly the young people who organised and promoted the event. To get such a large number of entries was sensational. Well done all round and thank you.

Cathy Carden, mother of finalist Andrew Carden (Community Service category)

A terrific evening! Well done to Wodonga Council and the committee for recognising so many talented and inspiring youth!

Great night. Congratulations to all involved. Fantastic job by the presenter. We travelled from Mildura for this event – 7˝ hours in the car - and it was worth every moment. Would love to take the idea/concept back to Mildura – again well done!!
